Technique Time Tuesday - Faux Silk Technique

Hello and long time no see to my fellow friends at Technique Time Tuesday.  Life just got very hectic this summer and I just needed to take a break but I'm back and raring to go with all the fabulous techniques we showcase at the Technique Time Tuesday Challenge Blog!

This month we are playing around with the Faux Silk technique.  It's super simple to do, and with the right stamps this technique really shines.

I used a pretty large stamp for this card, it's one of my favorites because its so pretty and really fun to color. It's from Stampendous and its called Rananculous Field.  I decided to use very pale pink tissue paper vs. white for a little variety.  I colored the image with Distress markers and a water brush that was barely wet.  You do need to be careful as I did tear the paper a bit since it got too wet as I was moving around my watercolor.  I ended up just excluding that part of the image...after I glued the tissue paper down I did a color wash with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Glitter Paint in Butterscotch.  It was more of a glaze than a paint really since its very translucent, shiny and glittery!  It's really pretty on person and I highly recommend it, I now own it in about seven colors.

I finished the card with a sentiment from a Hero Arts Friendship Clear stamp set, papers from My Minds Eye and a few flat back pearls.

Be sure to stop by the blog for the tutorial and enter your card for a chance to win some cool prizes!
