Chalkboard - Technique Time Tuesday

Hola!  I am so excited by this months challenge at Technique Time Tuesday, its Chalkboard.  Mynette put up a great Technique that does not require any special chalking supplies.  But, being the lazy hoarding rebel that I am I chose to just use my stash!  Still, its nice to know that there is a technique out there when the "easy" way out is unavailable.
You can find out more about the challenge and enter your creation at: http://mynettestechniquetimetuesday.blogspot.comv

I

I decided to go with a sewing theme once I went looking through my stamps.  These beauties are from Lawn Fawn.  I liked

A Pair of Pears

Tammy's Scrappin Corner - Extra Texture

Greetings!  This week at Tammy's Scrappin Corner we are featuring extra texture on our projects.  I came across a challenge at A Day For Daisies that I wanted to combine with our challenge this week, it's fruits or vegetables with some sort of food packaging.  A free Digi is being offered at ADFD, it's a pair of Pears.  Here's my creation, an altered paper mâché box.

I used some modeling paste applied onto a portion of a stencil which you can see on the photo up above on the right, that one has some stain in Distress Barn Door which was diluted with water and wiped off quickly.  There is more texture from the paste in the first photo showing the top of the box.  I mixed the paste with some Distress stain in Vintage Photo this allowed for only the paste to recieve the color and not affect the paper underneath.  I then smeared it on top of the stencil and lifted it up, voila, instant texture.
The gals over at A Day for Daisies wanted to see some food packaging, well since our Italian Foreign Exchange student has been here we have received several care packages from home!  On the right hand corner of both photos you can see some Italian writings, those are from a little paper tag attached to the pasta that was sent.  I also included the raffia ribbon on the top that I tied into a bow,  I also included a ribbon that was green, red and white (before I stained it) that ribbo n was attached to a big Italian salami his parents sent...Yum!  This little box will help bring back some memories of !ucas visit!

Anything With Wings - Eclectic Ellapu

Hello my friends.  Today I have a fun and funky creation to share.  The Pinkies at Eclectic Elapu are showing off our "things with wings".  I started a two page spread in my art journal a couple of months ago and thought I was finished, until this week when I looked at it and realized it was way boring.  New creative inspiration to the rescue...it needed a thing with wings of course!
